WELcome to Prek-3
The Two's class is your
child’s first school experience!
Our goal is to make it as enjoyable and satisfying as possible for both the child and
the parents. The main focus of our two's program is socialization and learning through play.
We work throughout the year to take the children from parallel play to cooperative play.
Our year consists of a variety of themes and lessons based on the seasons, holidays and some of our favorite authors. Circle Time, calendar, and dressing our weather frog are a few of the many exciting things we do. We love to read stories, sing songs and create artwork related to our weekly themes. The two’s artwork is child centered and very hands on so we always recommend play clothes!

centers & themes
Our main focus in our Two's Class is socialization. Our classroom is set up in a way that supports this goal and encourages cooperative play between the children. Each center is set up so that multiple children can play and interact in the same area at the same time. We strengthen our fine motor skills in our puzzle and manipulative center. We encourage creative play in our kitchen and dramatic play centers as well as in our dollhouse/ farm/ transportation center. Our art and sensory centers give the children hands on experiences with different types of materials.
A large portion of our concentration is on nature in correlation with the seasons.
In the fall we touch on apples, pumpkins, squirrels, leaves, pine cones, acorns and the trees they come from. During the winter months, we enjoy making snowmen and studying snowflakes by bringing the snow into our classroom. We also learn about different arctic animals and animals that hibernate. In the spring we enjoy exploring flowers, bumble bees, lady bugs, frogs, ducks, etc. Our weekly lessons also include many of our favorite seasonal holidays and some of our favorite authors and storybooks too. Songs, finger plays and books are infused into this extraordinary curriculum.
